Students get trained on the playground

In 1994, artist Federica Matta imagined a children’s playhouse for a private garden located in the southwest of France. It was to be her first monumental work: extraordinary figures, a silver snake and a 13 feet high weather vane. The resin artwork has just been restored by the students of the Ecole Supérieure des Beaux Arts of Tours-Angers-Le Mans, who are more accustomed to the wings of the Louvre or the Vatican. For these young restorers, this was an opportunity to experience teamwork and to familiarize themselves with materials used in contemporary creations.
