The Parliament of Reality, Olafur Eliasson

It is a place to gather and discuss in the Hudson Valley, upstate New York.
An island at the center of a pond, and to get there, a stone bridge covered by a steel lace tunnel. Bard College Center for Curatorial Studies has commissioned Olafur Eliasson his first permanent installation in the United States. The artist was inspired by the Althingi, the Icelandic Parliament, one of the oldest parliamentary institution in the world, which was originally an outdoor assembly.

The Parliament of Reality stands next to Frank Gehry–designed concert hall for Bard College, the Richard B.Fisher Center for the Performing Arts.
