On June 16th<\/sup>, 2018, at the Domaine de Suriane in Saint-Chamas (Bouches-du Rh\u00f4ne), Julie Navarro inaugurated the first stage of her joint residency\u2019s work at La Petite Escal\u00e8re<\/a> and voyons voir<\/a>, entitled Dissoudre le paysage<\/em> (Dissolve the landscape). The second stage, entitled \u201cPar l\u2019oreille d\u2019une goutte de pluie, \u00e9coute encore\u201d (Through the ear of a raindrop, listen again), will take place at 6pm on September 21st<\/sup> at La Petite Escal\u00e8re.<\/p>\n 8 proposals. 8, like the infinite knot that ties the land, like the reflection of the sun in water. <\/em><\/p>\n Selected through a call for candidacy and by a jury (Marie-Laure Bernadac, curator at the Patrimoine and exhibition curator, Dominique Haim, honorary president of the association les Amis de la Petite Escal\u00e8re and her team, C\u00e9line Ghisleri, president and artistic director of the association voyons voir \u00a0| art contemporain and her team), this visual artist stayed for a month-long residency last March in the Landes region at the sculpture garden of La Petite Escal\u00e8re, and spent April at the Suriane vineyard, on the banks of the Berre pond.<\/p>\n \u201cThe joint residency between La Petite Escal\u00e8re and Suriane extends my recent work on the poly-sensorial perception of the landscape and on the notions of otherness and memory that link them to humans. In many aspects, the two sites seem to be opposed. The night sky that covers them, or the telluric power that inhabits them seem to be the common language from which water creates, here, under the open sky, visible, at times threatening frictions, and there, enigmatic sparks. (\u2026) In this environment, where landscape is read through the body\u2019s memory, water stands as the womb of existential experience and symbolic writing, intuitive and mobile.\u00a0 Irish poet Seamus Heany used to say: \u201cVowels and consonants are made of water and earth\u201d.
