A Tour of Storm King with Director David Collens
An hour drive north of New York City, Storm King Art Center, one of the largest sculpture parks in the United States, is dedicated to integrating monumental installations in a magnificent landscape, amidst the fields, the hills and the woodlands. It provides the setting for a collection of more than a hundred sculptures dating from the end of WWII to present days, by artists such as Alexander Calder, Mark di Suvero, Richard Serra…
Storm King hosts the works of some of the greatest contemporary artists and offers a discovery program called “Outlooks” which allows young creators to display their work for a season. Storm King Art Center just celebrated its 50th anniversary. David Collens has been its director and curator since 1976.
