La forêt d’art contemporain

Since 2011, fifteen works of art have been installed on the grounds of the regional natural park of the Landes de Gascogne. Thanks to this initiative of the association “La Forêt d’art contemporain”, these selected works form a mental and geographic itinerary and question the landscape in which they are placed as well as the people who live in it, interrogating their memory, mingling past and present. This small book is dedicated to the work of the artists who have been invited to this event over the past few years. It opens with a meditation by Maryline Desbiolles on the forest and its imprint on our imagination and that of artists. The book then focuses on the works of eight artists: Doucet, Denis, Rahmoun, Dezoteux, Boeno, Le Deunff, Peinado, Vonier. The publication comes with a helpful map which will guide you through this vast land and allow you to discover the fifteen outdoor installations.  This small summary book is an invitation to follow up on the upcoming adventures of “La Forêt d’art contemporain”.
