Rachel Labastie, Venus, 2019

In the context of the annual “rendez-vous” for contemporary creation, the association Les Amis de La Petite Escalère has invited Rachel Labastie to create for the garden. The sculptor has proposed two pieces specifically imagined for the site: an ephemeral site-specific installation made of raw clay, and Venus, a black Marquina marble sculpture. Sculpture Nature has followed Rachel Labastie in Carrara, in the workshop of marble workers and brothers Poletti e Ghio, during the completion and finishing stage of Venus, and then to La Petite Escalère for the installation of the artwork in the garden.
