Walks of life, Tony Cragg in New York

This winter, Madison Square Park Art is displaying three monumental sculptures by English artist Tony Cragg.

Mixed Feelings, a 20 foot tall sculpture and Points Of View, an installation comprised of three sculptures three times the size of a man, present shapes familiar to the artist. Between abstraction and the representation of repeated human profiles, Tony Cragg seems to be once again playing with our senses. By using a different patina for each work, he aims at giving to bronze the sensation of a soft malleable material. As for Caldera, this impressively imposing sculpture rests on three points and forms an arch beneath which viewers can walk to experience its massive structure.
