After four months of restoration, Niki de Saint Phalle’s Nana fountain (1967) has regained its original splendor thanks to curator-restorer Julia Becker and her team, who specializes in the restoration of wood and plastic. This monumental sculpture, one of the artist’s first Nana, was installed thirty years ago in the middle of the artificial pond of the sculpture garden of La Petite Escalère (France). A restoration of its polychromy and of its hydraulic system had become a necessity. Thanks to the support of patrons and of the association Les Amis de la Petite Escalère (Friends of La Petite Escalère), Nana is now back in its garden, among bamboos and crayfish.
