Editor’s picks at 2015 Frieze New York
For the fourth year in a row the Frieze Art Fair took place on Randall’s Island, a 35 minute ferry ride north east of Manhattan.
Upon docking on this small verdant island, a large 400 yard long white tent immediately sets the scale of the fair: 198 galleries and 3 non-profit organizations. Wide alleys and spacious, naturally lit stands allow visitors to easily view and consider the acquisition of a sculpture or an installation. While we remained somewhat unimpressed by the Armory Show which took place last March, here are pictures of some of our favorite works at the Frieze New York, such as Rob Fischer’s at the Derek Eller Gallery, Antony Gormley’s new series Stress at the White Cube Gallery, and a surprising work by Ernesto Neto at the Tanya Bonakdar Gallery.
